The Christmas season may be gone, but Starbucks still has a final gift for customers, beginning January 3.
According to information given with Mashed, the chain's winter menu includes a new beverage, some new nibbles, and the return of former fan favorites such as the pistachio latte and pistachio cream cold coffee.
Starbucks' pistachio latte, which was introduced in Winter 2021 and is blended with espresso, steamed milk, pistachio flavor, and brown-butter sprinkles, rapidly became a cold-weather staple for the coffee shop.
Customers' enthusiasm for the delicately sweet and nutty flavor was so strong that Starbucks decided to double down in 2023 by introducing a new pistachio-flavored beverage.
Starbucks consumers adored the pistachio cream cold brew, which featured sweetened vanilla cold brew, creamy pistachio cold foam, and brown-butter sprinkles. Many Instagram commenters requested that it be added to the regular menu.
The coffee behemoth is also introducing a new plant-based alternative to its 2024 winter menu: iced hazelnut oat milk shaken espresso. The new drink, like the iced brown sugar oat milk espresso introduced in 2022, is prepared with blonde espresso laced with hazelnut syrup.
It's then shaken, poured over ice, and topped with creamy oat milk for a traditional, comforting winter flavor without the heat. In addition to the popular pistachio latte, pistachio cream cold brew, and iced hazelnut oat milk shaken espresso, the bakery will be offering two new delicacies for a limited time.
The potato, cheddar, and chive bake, marketed as a "high protein, vegetarian option," contains cage-free eggs, diced potatoes, cheddar cheese, spinach, and chives. Starbucks is also offering a vanilla bean custard Danish for individuals who like to start their day with a sweet treat.
The previously discontinued chicken, maple butter, and egg sandwich will also remain on the menu indefinitely. Starbucks has stated that it will make it easier to bring your own cup (BYOC) as part of its goal to eliminate disposable cups by 2030.
Beginning January 3, customers who want to use their own cup will be able to do so whether ordering in the drive-thru or through the Starbucks app, allowing them to reduce waste (while receiving the $0.10 cup discount and racking up Starbucks Rewards points) without leaving their car.
